April NatureBox Shop Order

In April, I started to eat a lot healthier and made an order with NatureBox so I could have some great, healthy snacks, and wouldn’t be tempted to run to the vending machine for snacks, and this works great!

I was super happy with everything I ordered, and I’m going to go ahead and review it all here! So let’s get started! 🙂

The first one is the Double Chocolate Brownie Cookies. And oh my gosh, these are AMAZING. They are soft and chewy, and have such a great chocolate tastes. I absolutely love these, and will definitely order more of them!

These are the Sourdough Cheddar Pretzel Bites! These little pretzel bites are so delicious and crunchy, and the cheese taste is great! I may not get these the next time I make an order, but they were pretty good!

This bag of California Dried Peaches are so good. I got majorly into dried peaches recently, and these are perfect. They’re sliced thinly and taste wonderfully, and while I very likely will not get them next time I order some snacks, they are totally delicious!

The Masa Crisps I have had in the past, and I really do enjoy them. They’re a great little chip that have a great taste to them!

Another snack I’ve had before, the Dark Chocolate Berry Trail Mix! I had to buy two bags this time because this snack is so good! I love the mix of nuts, berries, and chocolate!

This is the last snack I’ve had before, the Harvest Nut Mix. It’s a great, salty trail mix that has a lot of substance to it, and tides me over until it’s time for lunch or dinner.

These are the Sea Salt Cassava chips! Cassava is also called yuca, and these chips are so good! They taste just like potato chips, but they’re so much better for you! They’re delicious!

Now these are the Hardbite Carrot Chips. Hardbite is not a NatureBox brand, from my understanding, but they are selling some of their items through the NatureBox store, and I had to get these to try them! I’m very pleased with them too! They have a slight sweetness from the carrots, but they’re also a little salty and so good!

Finally, these are the Hardbite Beet Chips. I personally love pickled beets, and these chips are great! They have a little bit of sourness like a picked beet does, but they taste so great! I totally love them!

So that’s my most recent NatureBox order! I’ll have another one sometimes this summer, because I’ll be needing more snacks eventually, so, just hang tight and watch for that! 🙂

December 2016 JapanCrate

My apologies in advance if this is the only post, besides what I am gifted on Christmas Day, for this month that’s a review or something, but I’ve been very busy and been sick this week. :/

BUT, that’s not going to stop me from giving a quick overview and review of this month’s JapanCrate! And yes, I will have another next month! 🙂

So here’s the overview pictures! I love getting this red box, it’s so fun! The little booklet is cute too, and explains some things about Christmas in Japan, and tells you more about the snacks! I had to use flash for these, as I’m having some lighting issues in my room right now. But, I did my best, and here we go with the overview of the snacks!

The first item in this box is the Sakuranbo no Uta. This is a cherry flavored candy that apparently is supposed to have a resemblance to cherry pie with whipped cream on it. I’m not a huge fan of cherries, but cherry pie is the exception, haha. I can’t wait to try these and see how they taste.

Next we have the Uma wa Vegetable Salad Flavor. This apparently is made by the makers of the Umaibo sticks, and these are rings instead of full sized stick. These are supposed to taste like a salad with dressing on it, and I really hope these taste good. I thought they sounded interesting when I saw them on JapanCrate’s Twitter, and they really do sound tasty!

Our third snack is the Animal Lesson Choco. These are chocolate creme filled cookies with animals on them! These remind me of the Hello Panda cookies, and I bet they’re exactly the same, just with different designs on the front. Can’t wait to try them out!

This is a very interesting snack. It’s called Yakimo Yokan, and it’s a roasted sweet potato flavored gelatin dessert. Yes, this is a gelatin snack. It’s squishy, and I actually am excited to try it, as I love sweet potatoes. I’m sure it’s going to be delicious cold~

This is another one I’m super excited to try! These are Harvest Biscuit Matcha flavor. So, basically, they seem to be crackers that have a matcha flavor to them. I recently discovered that I actually really like matcha flavored snacks, so, I’m really excited to try this out and see how it tastes!

This next item is called Tsundermon Gum. And yes, it’s tsunder like from tsundere. These are meant to be like the tsundere trope, of going from sour (mean or cold) to sweet (nice or open). It’s in a lemon flavor, and looks like it’ll be tasty. I hope it isn’t too sour lol.

This snack is the Morokoshi wa ta Ro. These are just corn puff snacks it seems. The package is cute, and I like corn puff snacks, so, these should be a win for me. 🙂

Next up, this is the Grapefruit & Orange Nodo Ame. These are grapefruit and orange flavored hand candies that have vitamin C in them. I personally love grapefruits, and a candy in that flavor sounds wonderful! And after being sick this week, I need the vitamin C, lol!

Next is the Anpanman Pero Pero Chocolate. This is basically a chocolate lollipop, and it’s got an Anpanman character as the design! I don’t actually know this character’s name, but it looks delicious. If anyone knows this character’s name, please tell me!

Now we have the DIY kit that was included, the Green Tea Choco Mochi kit. Because of a shortage from their supplier, JapanCrate had to make a substitution from the slime kit featured in the booklet to this one, which isn’t a bad thing, they let us know in the emails with our tracking number, which is great, and I think this kit will be better than the slime kit honestly. I might try to record this one, since it’s a DIY kit, but, we’ll just have to see.

Getting down to the last few items, we have the drink that was included in this box! This is the Double Sparkling Yuzu & Lemon soda. I’ve never had yuzu before, but it being citrus and in a soda with lemon actually sounds delicious. I’ll have to get this chilled and try it out soon!

Another one I’ve never tried before, we have the strawberry flavored Calpico mini. The best way I know to describe these is kind of like astronaut food, but also not, from what I’ve seen and heard. The booklet describes this as a crunchy cone with an airy chocolate in the middle, with the one I received being strawberry flavored. I’m really excited to finally try one of these, I’ve been dying to for years!

This time around, our bonus item is another package of candy! This is the Kakushi Ume-dama, an ume flavored hard candy. Ume is pickled plum, and I’ve actually had an ume flavored gum in the past that I honestly loved. These are supposed to have at least one very sour candy in the bag, which isn’t a problem for me as I love sour candies.

This, honestly, is the one thing I was not excited to see in my box. This is the Long Cola Gum, two long pieces of cola flavored gum. I absolutely cannot stand the taste of Coca-Cola, and a cola flavored gum does not sound the least bit appealing to me. But, I will try it. I will probably share it with my three sisters, and we’ll see how it is.

img_20161221_193812And finally, we have the Pure Gummy Puchi Sankaku Lemon. This is a tiny package of lemon flavored gummies, and they’re supposed to taste like lemonade. I showed this to my mom and at first we both thought it was just one piece, until she held it up to the light and we saw it’s more than just one. Here’s hoping they taste delicious!

Despite the cola gum, I’m very excited for all the snacks in this box! I can’t wait to try them out, and see what each one tastes like. I’ll try to get individual reviews up for these snacks while I’m on break, but I might be a bit busy for that (I know I will be very busy next month and probably unable to do that with the January box, but we’ll see).

I do, honestly, highly recommend JapanCrate, even if I don’t get boxes from them often. They do have a store open on their website now, and I might have to make an order for past snacks I haven’t tried, but that’s just another thing we’ll have to see about. 😉

Tasty Thursday: Koyo Organic Mushroom Ramen

I went to Sprouts for the first time this past weekend, and got a lot of snacks and food for under $25 because of sales (mostly fruit for work lol), and while my mom, sister, and I were there,  we went through the snacks and prepared food section, and ended up finding packets of organic ramen on sale (I think for $.79?) and I had to pick two of them up because the flavors sounded great and…well, I hadn’t eaten lunch at that point yet. :I

So the first one, which I ate for my lunch after I got home, was the Mushroom flavored one. The directions were like most normal ramens, where you boil the water and put it in for a few minutes, add the flavor packet and there’s your ramen.

Simple enough, and that’s what I did.

20160604_145816 20160604_145823

This is how it looked once it was finished, still hot. It smelled really good, and it didn’t taste too bad either. I didn’t get much of a mushroom taste, however, and it wasn’t very salty like I was expecting. It was still pretty tasty though. So, I would recommend it if you’d like something small for a quick lunch or dinner, but I don’t know if I would buy it again. It was a nice change from the shrimp or beef that I usually eat when I do have ramen (which isn’t very often now).

I have another one of these to try soon, and I’m more excited for that flavor than this one. 😀

Tasty Thursdays: Del Monte fruit naturals Red Grapefruit

I know that not everyone likes grapefruit, probably because of how sour they are. But I personally just love them, no matter what the sour level is, and I enjoy having them as afternoon snacks, or a part of my lunch.

So when I found out that Del Monte had red grapefruit cups, I was so excited, but I also knew they were going to be expensive. Luckily, the store my mom frequents for our groceries had these fruit cups on sale, 4 for $5, and that was probably a lot cheaper than if I had just bought them the second I saw them somewhere else.

Of course, because this is grapefruit, there’s little to no sweetness to it. It’s not bad though, it’s really good! There’s no sugar added so it’s healthier than other fruit cups, and tastes really good. It comes already chilled, so you don’t have to worry about waiting hours for it to get cold!

Tasty Thursdays: Sonoma Creamery Mr. Cheese O’s Tuscan Herb

When I go to the store, I look for things that are on clearance whether it’s food or clothes. If it’s food, I make sure it’s a good price before I buy it, because I am a bit tight on money, personally.

So I went to Target last week and picked up a few things, and one was this cheese cracker snack.

I have never seen the Sonoma Creamery brand before, but hey, they were on clearance and looked good, so, I picked them up!

No regrets. These are tasty! I’m not gluten free, dairy free, or vegetarian, but I really like these! The taste is very herby, but not too much to overpower the parmesan flavor of the crackers.

The only thing I don’t understand is the fact that it has milk in it, but says it’s naturally lactose free. If anyone can explain that to me, please do so!

Tasty Thursday: Ghiradelli Peppermint Bark–Oh the delicious chocolate~

Today I have an item I bought on sale after Christmas. 😀 It’s just a two pack of chocolate, but it’s delicious and amazing~

I got this two pack of Ghiradelli peppermint bark, and I just love it. There’s to variations of it. One is a milk chocolate back, the other is dark chocolate.

I, personally, like the milk chocolate one much better, I don’t know why. I guess it’s just my tastes! But either way, they’re both good. I just think the milk chocolate is better.

This is a very creamy, smooth chocolate, even with the peppermint bits in the white chocolate. Ghiradelli is very high-quality chocolate, and therefore very good, even though it can be very expensive too.

So, I, of course, highly suggest this when Christmas time comes back around at the end of this year!

Tasty Thursday: Meiji Hello Panda–I love you, Hello Panda.

I may have reviewed these before, I’m not sure, but let’s just go ahead and review it anyway! 🙂

Today’s Tasty Thursday post is a box of Meiji Hello Panda that I got in my Christmas stocking last year!

These are the plain cookie with chocolate creme inside! I am absolutely in love with these cookies! You can get them for only a dollar at Target’s dollar section, and I always enjoy getting them for a small, sweet snack when I need some chocolatey.

The cookie is crispy and tasty, and the chocolate creme is very smooth and delicious as well. These are just so good.

If I can, I’d like get the double chocolate Hello Panda cookies to try again as well, and the vanilla creme ones!

Tasty Thursday: Sherwood Brands Chocolate with Caramel Truffles–Um……

***This is not a sponsored post. It is being done for fun and to inform, no other reasons are involved. The company that makes this product has no idea I exist and did not give this item to me for free.***

Today’s tasting is a box of truffles I got from Dollar Tree! My mom had some of these that were just plain milk chocolate, and they were so good that I wanted to try out the caramel ones!

IMG_20160112_200238 IMG_20160112_200252 IMG_20160112_200330

These aren’t…bad? I mean, they’re wrapped in really pretty foil, and the chocolate itself is pretty tasty.

The caramel, however, umm…. It has a really weird taste, kind of like it’s cheap caramel, which made me sad because I love truffles filled with caramel. 😦

But, you know, someone probably loves the way these taste! I’m just not that person.

So, if you don’t mind cheap tasting caramel, I suggest these to you. If you do dislike cheap tasting caramel, you can skip these and find something else. Go pick up some Lindt instead.

Tasty Thursday: Valentine’s Day Heart Box of Chocolate–Aw, for me?!

***This is not a sponsored post. It is being done for fun and to inform, no other reasons are involved. The company that makes this product has no idea I exist and did not give this item to me for free.***

Today we have Tasty Thursday! This is the day of the week where I will be reviewing different foods when I can. I don’t expect this to be a weekly series until I am able to get a job and make some money.

But, for now, we have a few posts of some foods I’ve gotten recently!

Today’s is a small box of Elmer Valentine’s Day chocolates. I picked this one up because I thought the box was pretty, and I like buying myself a box of chocolate at Valentine’s!

IMG_20160112_193313 IMG_20160112_193325 IMG_20160112_193335

These chocolates smelled SO GOOD once the box was opened, and they looked good as well!

Starting from the top left, the flavors are an orange cream with dark and milk chocolate (VERY good!); the next is, I believe, a raspberry cream in milk chocolate (also very good!!); the third is caramel in milk chocolate (AMAZING); fourth is dark chocolate with something in the middle, but I can’t tell what the flavoring inside is; and finally, the last one is like a thick, gooey chocolate inside with milk chocolate around it.

These are so good! I got them at Dollar Tree, and definitely recommend them!

Meiji Milk Chocolate Bars

This is the other Japanese chocolate review that I have today! This is just a simple milk chocolate bar, but it was something that I was super excited for when I bought it!
I got this on Amazon as well and it arrived much sooner than I expected. It also shipped from Japan and wasn’t a bad price either!

This chocolate is so creamy and delicious!! The little pieces are really easy to portion and eat, and it’s just so good.
I would absolutely buy this again and I want to try the Meiji white chocolate soon too!
