Hey everyone! It’s been a while since I posted, but, today, I have the June 2017 Japan Crate! 🙂 I won’t be getting the July one, but I will have the July Umai Crate (by accident….I thought I canceled it. :I) And I’m totally doing this one differently today: I have tasted all but three of the items in this crate, and one of my sisters helped me out as well! 😀 So let’s go ahead and get started! :3

This month’s theme is Childhood Favorites, and, honestly, I’ve only ever had one of these snacks before, and that was in a past Japan Crate!

IMG_20170616_123638

The first item is the Ice Stick Lollipop. These lollipops are supposed to look like ice pops, and it looks like it’ll be a tasty little treat! I didn’t try this one since there’s only one piece, but I do hope it tastes good!

IMG_20170616_123809

The second snack is the Mochi Taro: Salt. In the May crate we had a snack kind of like this, and I really did enjoy it. This one I also enjoyed! It had a light salt taste and it was pretty good! My sister thought it was ok when she tried it.

IMG_20170616_123723

These are the Triangular Cracker Vegetable. They’re vegetable flavored crackers, but, honestly? There was so flavor to these when I tried them, and my sister agreed. I really wish I had been able to taste the flavor, whatever it was supposed to be, but there was just nothing.

IMG_20170616_123648

This one is the Soft Soda Soft Candy. The booklet describes them as being jellybean like, but I compare the texture more to being like chewing gum! I really like the ramune flavor, and it had a slight sour kick at the end. My sister didn’t really seem to enjoy the sour kick, but seemed fine with it otherwise.

IMG_20170616_123851

The fifth snack is the Anpanman Soft Cracker. This bag is HUGE and I was so surprised when I opened it to find that the crackers were individually wrapped in packs of two! That means I can easily put them in my lunchbox and take them to work with me! My sister didn’t want to try these, so I tried them by myself, and I really liked them! They were crunchy and had a salty, kind of buttery taste to them!

IMG_20170616_123751

This is the Roll Candy Strawberry 20G. Basically, it’s a Japanese Fruit Roll-Up! I tired this one by myself again, and it was pretty good! I haven’t had a Fruit Roll-Up in years, so, I can’t compare this one to the American version, but I do think this one is very good, it has a really good strawberry flavor to it, and it is sticky, but, that’s expected.

IMG_20170616_123624

This snack is simply called Pike8. I was a bit confused about which on this was according to the booklet, because this package doesn’t match what’s in the booklet. Either way, it’s another rice cracker and this one is supposed to have a buttery and salty taste. It’s a very crunchy cracker and not bad tasting, but it does take a bit to get the butter flavor. I enjoyed it and my sister thought it was ok.

IMG_20170616_123706

This is a snack I’ve had before, the Corn Potage. It’s a corn soup flavored puff snack, and I really do enjoy this snack! It has a sweet corn flavor, and I love that. My sister got the flavor as well, but she didn’t like it that much.

IMG_20170616_165051.jpg

These are the Rilakkuma pretzel sticks. It’s basically Pocky without the cream on the outside, and they aren’t bad! They come in a honey butter flavor, and I personally really enjoy that flavor combination! I liked these a lot, and my sister thought they were all right.

IMG_20170616_123955

This is the DIY kit for this month, Shin-chan Puripuri Pudding #5. This is the fifth edition of this DIY kit, where you follow the directions to make pudding. I haven’t done this kit yet, and I don’t know if I’ll make a separate post about it or not, I’m undecided. I don’t think I’ll be using the butt shaped mold, personally. :I

IMG_20170616_123913

Genji Pie!! I’ve been dying to try these for months! These are in a mini form, and they’re heart shaped, baked cookies that are just like a flaky pie crust! They have a delicious buttery sweet taste, and remind me of pecan pie crust! I absolutely love these!

IMG_20170616_123736

This snack has a strange name! In the booklet, it’s called Lactic Acid Bacteria is Alive! It’s a hard candy that is strawberry yogurt flavored, and it has live lactic acid bacteria in it, which is a probiotic. My sister and I tried these and at first, I thought they were gummy candy! It’s not bad, and I do like the flavor, and I think my sister liked it to an extent as well.

IMG_20170616_123943

Here is the drink for this month, Pudding Shake! This is going to be a strange one to try, I think. It seems like it’s a creamy drink with bits of pudding in it, and it’s being compared to boba drinks. I personally really like boba, so I do hope this tastes good when I drink it, but I am a bit scared lol.

IMG_20170616_123903

Finally, we have the Choco Anpan! These are little breads that have chocolate in the middle! I’ve wanted to try these for a long time, and finally I got to! However, I thought they were just ok. The chocolate was good, but my sister and I agree that there was too much bread, and not enough chocolate in the middle.

The bonus item this month is a moldable sushi piece. It comes with a plastic piece of raw fish, and this semi-wet material that you can mold to be like the rice of the sushi. It’s interesting and I have mine together in the bag it came in, just so the material doesn’t dry out.

IMG_20170616_124134

So that’s the June 2017 Japan Crate! I’m actually super happy with this crate and everything that came in it, and I think it was a very strong in the snacks that they sent us!

I’ll see you guys again next month for the July Umai Crate! 🙂

May 2017 JapanCrate Review

***This is not a sponsored post. It is being done for fun and to inform, no other reasons are involved. The company that makes this product has no idea I exist and did not give this item to me for free.***

We’re back with a Premium JapanCrate!! 😀 Haven’t had one of these since January, but now we’re doing the May crate! I have no idea if I will be doing any more this summer, so, let’s just put that on the back burner for now and focus on this crate! 🙂 I’m going to do this one a little different, because I’ve gone ahead and tried a couple of the snacks in this box because I couldn’t resist lol. I’ll make sure to mention which ones I’ve tried and the ones I haven’t, because the latter snacks will be reviewed at a later date. 🙂

IMG_20170512_183549

I don’t know if I like this pamphlet as much as past ones, but it’s still kind of cute. :3

IMG_20170512_183844

This is the Dondon Yaki: KimChi. The pamphlet says it’s a snack that’s flavor is based on Okonomiyaki with a bit of kimchi to it. I hope it’s not too spicy! (I did not try this snack yet.)

IMG_20170512_183901

(sorry for blurriness, i tried. :/)

This snack is the Meigum Gaburichu Cola. This is a soft taffy that’s in the flavor of cola, so, IDK if I’m going to like it, because I really don’t like cola flavored stuff…(I did not try this snack yet.)

IMG_20170512_183921

This little snack is called Don Taro, and it’s udon noodles! These are soy sauce and dashi soup flavor, according to the pamphlet. I really can’t wait to eat this. It looks delicious! (I did not try this snack yet.)

IMG_20170512_183934

This is an interesting one. It’s called Fugashi, and the pamphlet says it’s a brown sugar glazed puff snack, like a corn puff. It looks tasty, so, I hope it’s good!(I did not try this snack yet.)

IMG_20170512_183944

This cute little snack is called Roll Cake: Strawberry Cream. It’s a little strawberry cream cake! 😀 It looks really tasty and I can’t wait to eat it!(I did not try this snack yet.)

IMG_20170512_183956

Ok, this one is the Wasabi Nori Tarou, a dried fish snack with wasabi and seaweed flavor. This is one that I tried, and, honestly, I really liked it (until I put half of it in my mouth at once. The wasabi hurt me). It was a little sticky which was weird, but I still liked it. In small bites, the wasabi isn’t bad at all, but too much at once is a bit painful!

IMG_20170512_184007

Ah, I was so excited when I saw this was the replacement snack for one that there was a shortage on! This is the Tohato Caramel Corn! I’ve always wanted to try this, and can now say that I have! It’s SUPER good! It tastes just like the caramel popcorn we have over here, and I love it! So glad this was put in the box!!

IMG_20170512_184032

A chocolate snack, yes! This one is called Shimi Chocolate Corn! It’s a chocolate covered corn snack! Anything chocolate is usually great in my book, so, I bet these will be delicious! (I did not try this snack yet.)

IMG_20170512_184042

An interesting snack, this is the 6-Piece Crispy Corn. It’s a little corn puff snack that’s meant to replicate corn on the cob, like the grilled one you would find at a Japanese festival (or maybe even from your home grill!) It smells delicious and actually does taste like corn on the cob, just in a crunchy snack form! I really like it!

IMG_20170512_184051

A Pokemon item!! This is simply a piece of gum with a sticker, and I’ll make a post later on about the sticker part! The gum is a little square, and it has a soda taste to it (like…whatever Japanese soda is supposed to be. original ramune I guess?). It was good, but I’ve had this gum before, so, no surprise there haha.

IMG_20170512_184113

Pokemon and Hello Kitty?? This is my box! This little treat is a chocolate filled marshmallow with Hello Kitty on the package! I’ll be saving this for much later because there’s only ONE and it’s so small.

IMG_20170512_184122

I got super excited when I saw this in my box!! It’s the Cream Collon Strawberry cookie! This is a wafer cookie with strawberry cream! I’ve had the vanilla version of these bfore and liked them, so, I really hope these are good too! (I did not try this snack yet.)

IMG_20170512_184133

Now for our drink! This is the Mitsuya Cider: Refreshing Lemon! According to the pamphlet, Japanese cider isn’t like American cider at all. Japanese cider is likened to a cross between ginger ale and Sprite! This one is supposed to be like a sparkling lemonade, so, I can’t wait to taste it! (I did not try this drink yet.)

IMG_20170512_184151

This is our DIY kit! It’s the Petit Pastel DIY Colorful Chocolate snack kit! I’ll definitely put this together and do a review of it soon!

IMG_20170512_184208

And finally, our bonus item. While I’m not a fan of One Piece in the slightest, I do think this little piece of stationary is cute! It’s a few piece of lined paper, two envelopes, and a sheet of stickers! So, it’s basically a small letter kit!

IMG_20170512_184314

And there is the May JapanCrate! I’m really happy with this crate! I’m sure I’m going to love everything that’s here (that I haven’t already tasted lol) and I can’t wait to review the rest of the snacks for you guys! 🙂

Umai Ring Mentai Flavor

***This is not a sponsored post. It is being done for fun and to inform, no other reasons are involved. The company that makes this product has no idea I exist and did not give this item to me for free.***

In December’s JapanCrate, we had a bag of Umai Rings that were Vegetable Salad flavor, and they were delicious! This time, we got the Mentai flavored rings!

Mentai is marinated roe of pollack and cod, and this had quite the fish smell when I opened it. It kind of reminded me of the Shrimp Chips I reviewed a few years back. But these tasted really good. I can’t describe it exactly, but it had kind of a slightly sweet taste to it. Not bad at all, and I’d like to get another bag!

Morokoshi wa Ta Ro

***This is not a sponsored post. It is being done for fun and to inform, no other reasons are involved. The company that makes this product has no idea I exist and did not give this item to me for free.***

Corn puffs are always good snack to have. They’re usually salty but tasty, and usually pretty soft so they don’t crunch very loudly. I’ve had another type of Japanese corn puff snacks in the June 2016 JapanCrate, so, I’m pretty used to these by now.

These are pretty standard corn puffs. They’re a little sweet, but a nice little snack. I ate them one day when we were preparing for Christmas haha. They were good, for sure! I’d like to have more to take on campus as a nice little snack.

JapanCrate Bonus Stocking

img_20170121_132910

So the day after I got my January JapanCrate, the wonderful bonus stocking/box arrived! I was taking a shower when one of my sisters got the mail, so when I went back to my room I was surprised to see a DokiDoki Crate box on my bed, as I was 100% sure I hadn’t ordered one! Then I opened it, and it was the bonus stocking from their Christmas code!

I had thought this would be in, like, a bad with all the stuff stuck in the stocking, but I like the box a lot better. I can use it for my sticker diary items (it will return in February!) or some other little things! The felt stocking is cute, but I have a stocking I use every year for Christmas with my family, so, this may just hang on my bedroom door next Christmas as a little bit of decoration.

This bonus gift came with nine items, not including the stocking. The items are various little things from all four of their crates: the JapanCrate, DokiDoki Crate, Umai Crate, and KiraKira Crate. I do hope in the coming month to try the DokiDoki, Umai, and KiraKira crates, but that will have to be a “wait and see” kind of thing, because I’m working for minimum wage and I have to save my money for a car (and I pay my parents for my cell phone bill because I’m on a family plan with them). But, anyway, I’d LOVE to try the other crates, and hope to get the chance to in the future! For now, let’s look at all these items!

For the majority of these items, I went to the JapanCrate online store and found them there, which is the only reason I have names and descriptions. Two of the items were not there, but I was able to find the name for one of them.

img_20170121_132943

This item is a snack called Nikuidaizu: Pepper Jerky Flavor. This isn’t a beef jerky at all, it’s made from soy beans, so, it’s like a vegetarian jerky! The package feels a bit squishy when I mess with it. It’s funny I ended up getting this, because I was considering ordering it from an online store haha!

The second item in this little box made me so happy to see! It’s washi tape!! This is DokiDoki Crate exclusive washi tape, and features their original character Hoppe-chan and her friends! These are going to be grate to use in my sticker diary!

This third item is a little gachapon ice cream cone keychain! There’s not much else to say with this one, except that I already broke the plastic container it came it by accident lol. It’s super cute, and I may hang it off my phone case or my lanyard!

This item is an adorable little item is a coin purse, and the character is called Chakkun. This character, according to the item description, is a combination of accessory items forgotten and left on the Harajuku streets after a long day. With some magic, this little guy was created. It’s so freaking cute, and it has a little cell phone charm string on it. I’d love to carry this and keep my coins in it.

Please ignore my horrible looking nails lol.

This adorable little item is a hair tie! I had seen someone open the DokiDoki Crate that this came in, and I was so in love with it, I wanted one so bad. So, I’m so happy that I got this! The style is adorable, and it holds my hair up very nicely!

img_20170121_133055

This little bag is simply a bag of potato chips, but these black pepper flavored! I actually like sea salt and black pepper flavored chips and snacks, so, I’m kind of hoping these are somewhat the same!

img_20170121_133105

It took me FOREVER to find what this ramen is called. This is the Samyang Spicy Chicken Ramyun. And yeah, the package shows that it’s extremely spicy, and I’m a little worried about eating it. I don’t do so well with really spicy food, but I will try this.

img_20170121_133113

This is the next to last item I got in my bonus box. It’s a facial mask, and the package says it’s an apricot collagen treatment. The back of the package DOES have English instructions, so, I won’t be lost when I try this out.

img_20170121_133124

This last item is a plastic scrunchie/bracelet! When I pulled this out, my sister thought it was a keychain type of item, because she has one that looks like this that she her keys on, but this is a harder plastic. I still might use it the same way, because it kind of worries me to put this in my hair honestly.

img_20170121_133523

So that’s everything that was in my bonus stocking/box from JapanCrate! I’m pretty happy with all of it, but I do wish they had included like, a small paper or booklet explaining what each of these were, especially since it took me a bit to find the name and flavor of the ramen.

I will be review the snacks, and maybe the washi tapes. I don’t think I’ll review the facial mask lol.

Harvest Biscuit Matcha Flavor

***This is not a sponsored post. It is being done for fun and to inform, no other reasons are involved. The company that makes this product has no idea I exist and did not give this item to me for free.***

This past summer, I tried two different matcha flavored snacks for the first time and fell so in love with the flavor. It’s so delicious, a bit bitter and earthy, but I loved it! I’m always tempted when I stop at the Starbucks on my campus to get the green tea latte, but I’m not even sure if they have it right now. When I found these biscuits/crackers in my JapanCrate, I was so excited! I don’t think I’ve ever had a Tohato snack before, so these would be my first, and I’m quite impressed!

The package contains eight packs of four biscuits. Obviously they’re going to be green because of the matcha, and they have this little salt kind of crystal on them, but it’s not salt? I think it’s supposed to be a tiny bit of sugar added to it. I enjoy these crackers so much, either way. They’re a great little snack for me to have in between my classes or at work, and I’m going to be super sad when I finish them off. I’m currently searching EVERYWHERE on the internet to find a place that’s selling them for a good price, but it’s such a struggle right now lol.

January 2017 JapanCrate

img_20170120_123207

Check it out, guys, we got another JapanCrate!! 🙂 This is my last one for now, as I’m a bit tight on play money right now. I do have one more item from them on the way, and it’s the Christmas stocking that was a special item with a code they were giving out in December. I found out the other day that the stockings are shipped separately from the main box, so, we’re waiting for that now. 🙂

This month’s theme is Indulgence, and oh boy, I’m SUPER excited for this box!! (and yes, my box is rather beat up lol. I’m also sick while writing this so I haven’t tried a single thing in the box yet.)

Doesn’t this pamphlet look lovely?? You can see just a couple of the snacks in the box, as many of these are small, single serve snacks, which I don’t mind! I’m usually the only one in my family that eats these snacks, so, I’m not concerned about having to share them haha!

I’m going to do all of these in order based on the pamphlet, and when I review each of the snacks individually, I will do them either in this order, or starting from the last snack to the first one in the pamphlet.

img_20170120_123441

The first snack in this box is the Kajiriccho Grape & Soda Soft Candy. The booklet describes this as being a taffy-like candy that has a grape flavored outside and a soda flavored center. This looks delicious, and I’m excited to try out a candy like this!

img_20170120_123556

Our next snacks is the Double Ice Cream Lollipop Chocolate & Vanilla. Basically, it’s a lollipop with the flavors of chocolate and vanilla ice cream. Yummy!!  This is their featured candy in the pamphlet, and they made the suggestion of placing the lollipop in the fridge and trying it cold, saying it should be like real ice cream without the mess. I may have to try it like that!

img_20170120_123654

This snack is a Fruit Donut treat. Apparently they come in different flavors, and mine is a green gummy ring. I wonder what the flavor will be!

img_20170120_123317

Last month they gave us the Umai Vegetable Salad flavor rings, and this month we have the Umai Ring Mentai flavor! This is the other featured snack in the booklet, and it describes the flavor as being marinated roe of pollack and cod, and this is the most popular flavor in Japan! I’m a bit excited and worried to try to this, so, I really hope it tastes delicious!

img_20170120_123420

The fifth snack in this crate is the Umaibo Chocolate. I have only had one Umaibo stick before, and I can’t remember what the flavor was, but I really enjoyed it. This one has chocolate! I’m sure I’m going to love it, lol!

img_20170120_123547

I didn’t expect to get a bag of chocolate chip cookies in a JapanCrate lol. These just called Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies. These are bite-sized chocolate chip cookies, which makes me laugh since I just got a bag of mini chocolate chip cookies from NatureBox, haha.

img_20170120_123703

Here we have the Suppai Lemon Gum! This is supposed to be super sour gum, which makes me laugh because we just got sour lemon gum last month too! I can’t wait to give this a try, as I love sour gum!

img_20170120_123613

I want to first say that I love matcha so much, it’s my new favorite drink at Starbucks. And these look so delicious! These are simply Matcha Sandwich Cookies, but they look so great. It’s a nice sized box too, so, maybe they’ll last me a little while!

img_20170120_123458

This is the only snack in this box that really has me concerned. This is the Chocola Gummy. It’s a cola flavored gummy with a chocolate coating. I HATE cola flavored candy, and this have a chocolate coating just makes me feel sicks… but, I will give it a taste for the blog, I just may have to hand it over to someone else if I hate it.

img_20170120_123736

This is the Magic Slime DIY kit, the kit we were supposed to get last month but didn’t because of seller shortage. I’m not sure what I think of this DIY kit, but I will document my experience with it and see how it tastes!

img_20170120_123336

These are the ABC Message Cookies. It looks like they’re plain cookies in the shape of alphabet letters! I can’t wait to try these, and we’ll see if I can spell anything with them, lol!

img_20170120_123625

Here is the One Stick Chocolate Pie. I’ve seen this online before, and always thought it looked delicious, and now I get to try it!! It’s a one piece snack that supposed to be just like a chocolate pie without all the baking! It looks so good, I’m excited to taste it!

img_20170120_123409

Here we have the Meigum Gaburichu: Strawberry Yogurt flavor. It looks like this a stick of gum in the flavor of strawberry yogurt. I’m very interested to see how this tastes! It feels like it’s a pretty good sized piece of gum, so I should be able to cut it into a couple of pieces and try it out that way!

img_20170120_123357

A cute little pack of gummies! This is called Animal Land Gummy, and it looks like these are grape flavored, just by the packaging! I’m so glad they aren’t cola flavored like the dinosaur ones this past summer were, lol!

img_20170120_123806

Here’s the drink for this month! This is called Bodyguard Plus, and unfortunately, I can’t tell you what the flavor is. It looks like there was a misprint in the booklet and it says the exact same thing on this item and the bonus item for product description. :/ But I’ll try it and see if I can identify the flavor!

img_20170120_123344

And the final item is a bonus item. This was included as a mystery candy because of the delays last month from all the holiday shipments. It looks like a random mystery candy was included in every box that went out, and I ended up getting the Zombie Maker Gum. This has stickers and a background to place them on, and includes a piece of gum with it. It kind of creeps me out, but I’m sure the gum will taste great.

img_20170120_123955

And there we are, the January 2017 JapanCrate! It’s a great start to the year, even though I won’t be getting next months box. I’m really happy with this box, and I can’t wait to dive in and try everything!

As soon as the bonus gift stocking gets here, I’ll do a review of the items that are in it as well!

Animal Lesson Choco

***This is not a sponsored post. It is being done for fun and to inform, no other reasons are involved. The company that makes this product has no idea I exist and did not give this item to me for free.***

So I’m pretty sure anyone that’s had any Japanese snacks has probably had Hello Panda or Koala March. The tasty little biscuit cookies with a cream center, that can be either chocolate, strawberry, or some other flavor (I’m still dying to try the matcha Koala March). If you haven’t had these before, I’ll be shocked, as even my current manager at work had Koala March as a child, to my surprise!

These are basically the exact same thing, but with different animals printed on them! They’re just like Hello Panda, and I really like them. The pack was tiny, so, there wasn’t much there, but they were cute with the little animals on them!

Umai wa Vegetable Salad Flavor

***This is not a sponsored post. It is being done for fun and to inform, no other reasons are involved. The company that makes this product has no idea I exist and did not give this item to me for free.***

The next snack from the December JapanCrate is this interesting ring shaped snack from Umaibo. If you don’t know what Umaibo is, it’s basically a tube shaped corn stick that comes in a variety of flavors. I’ve had two snacks from them, but that’s it. This one, actually, is the third, and the flavor was interesting!

This is supposed to be the flavor of a garden salad with dressing on it. Now I personally love salad, it’s always a wonderful lunch or dinner, and I do need a good bit of dressing on it when I eat one, but sometimes just enough to have a taste of it. These little rings are very tasty. I opened them and I was a bit concerned, but when I tasted it, I fell in love! I’m not sure how to describe the taste, but it was bit like a salad dressing, I just can’t think of which one when I eat them. They were delicious, and I’m so sad that my bag is gone, lol!

This bag was full sized as well, so, it was pretty big! I do know that, based on the JapanCrate Instagram, there will be another bag of ring shaped snacks from Umaibo in the January crate, but the flavor will be Mentai, which looks like it’s supposed to be a caviar flavor. That’s going to be interesting…

December 2016 JapanCrate

My apologies in advance if this is the only post, besides what I am gifted on Christmas Day, for this month that’s a review or something, but I’ve been very busy and been sick this week. :/

BUT, that’s not going to stop me from giving a quick overview and review of this month’s JapanCrate! And yes, I will have another next month! 🙂

So here’s the overview pictures! I love getting this red box, it’s so fun! The little booklet is cute too, and explains some things about Christmas in Japan, and tells you more about the snacks! I had to use flash for these, as I’m having some lighting issues in my room right now. But, I did my best, and here we go with the overview of the snacks!

img_20161221_193723

The first item in this box is the Sakuranbo no Uta. This is a cherry flavored candy that apparently is supposed to have a resemblance to cherry pie with whipped cream on it. I’m not a huge fan of cherries, but cherry pie is the exception, haha. I can’t wait to try these and see how they taste.

img_20161221_193708

Next we have the Uma wa Vegetable Salad Flavor. This apparently is made by the makers of the Umaibo sticks, and these are rings instead of full sized stick. These are supposed to taste like a salad with dressing on it, and I really hope these taste good. I thought they sounded interesting when I saw them on JapanCrate’s Twitter, and they really do sound tasty!

Our third snack is the Animal Lesson Choco. These are chocolate creme filled cookies with animals on them! These remind me of the Hello Panda cookies, and I bet they’re exactly the same, just with different designs on the front. Can’t wait to try them out!

This is a very interesting snack. It’s called Yakimo Yokan, and it’s a roasted sweet potato flavored gelatin dessert. Yes, this is a gelatin snack. It’s squishy, and I actually am excited to try it, as I love sweet potatoes. I’m sure it’s going to be delicious cold~

This is another one I’m super excited to try! These are Harvest Biscuit Matcha flavor. So, basically, they seem to be crackers that have a matcha flavor to them. I recently discovered that I actually really like matcha flavored snacks, so, I’m really excited to try this out and see how it tastes!

This next item is called Tsundermon Gum. And yes, it’s tsunder like from tsundere. These are meant to be like the tsundere trope, of going from sour (mean or cold) to sweet (nice or open). It’s in a lemon flavor, and looks like it’ll be tasty. I hope it isn’t too sour lol.

This snack is the Morokoshi wa ta Ro. These are just corn puff snacks it seems. The package is cute, and I like corn puff snacks, so, these should be a win for me. 🙂

Next up, this is the Grapefruit & Orange Nodo Ame. These are grapefruit and orange flavored hand candies that have vitamin C in them. I personally love grapefruits, and a candy in that flavor sounds wonderful! And after being sick this week, I need the vitamin C, lol!

Next is the Anpanman Pero Pero Chocolate. This is basically a chocolate lollipop, and it’s got an Anpanman character as the design! I don’t actually know this character’s name, but it looks delicious. If anyone knows this character’s name, please tell me!

Now we have the DIY kit that was included, the Green Tea Choco Mochi kit. Because of a shortage from their supplier, JapanCrate had to make a substitution from the slime kit featured in the booklet to this one, which isn’t a bad thing, they let us know in the emails with our tracking number, which is great, and I think this kit will be better than the slime kit honestly. I might try to record this one, since it’s a DIY kit, but, we’ll just have to see.

Getting down to the last few items, we have the drink that was included in this box! This is the Double Sparkling Yuzu & Lemon soda. I’ve never had yuzu before, but it being citrus and in a soda with lemon actually sounds delicious. I’ll have to get this chilled and try it out soon!

Another one I’ve never tried before, we have the strawberry flavored Calpico mini. The best way I know to describe these is kind of like astronaut food, but also not, from what I’ve seen and heard. The booklet describes this as a crunchy cone with an airy chocolate in the middle, with the one I received being strawberry flavored. I’m really excited to finally try one of these, I’ve been dying to for years!

This time around, our bonus item is another package of candy! This is the Kakushi Ume-dama, an ume flavored hard candy. Ume is pickled plum, and I’ve actually had an ume flavored gum in the past that I honestly loved. These are supposed to have at least one very sour candy in the bag, which isn’t a problem for me as I love sour candies.

This, honestly, is the one thing I was not excited to see in my box. This is the Long Cola Gum, two long pieces of cola flavored gum. I absolutely cannot stand the taste of Coca-Cola, and a cola flavored gum does not sound the least bit appealing to me. But, I will try it. I will probably share it with my three sisters, and we’ll see how it is.

img_20161221_193812And finally, we have the Pure Gummy Puchi Sankaku Lemon. This is a tiny package of lemon flavored gummies, and they’re supposed to taste like lemonade. I showed this to my mom and at first we both thought it was just one piece, until she held it up to the light and we saw it’s more than just one. Here’s hoping they taste delicious!

Despite the cola gum, I’m very excited for all the snacks in this box! I can’t wait to try them out, and see what each one tastes like. I’ll try to get individual reviews up for these snacks while I’m on break, but I might be a bit busy for that (I know I will be very busy next month and probably unable to do that with the January box, but we’ll see).

I do, honestly, highly recommend JapanCrate, even if I don’t get boxes from them often. They do have a store open on their website now, and I might have to make an order for past snacks I haven’t tried, but that’s just another thing we’ll have to see about. 😉
