Hey everyone! It’s been a while since I posted, but, today, I have the June 2017 Japan Crate! πŸ™‚ I won’t be getting the July one, but I will have the July Umai Crate (by accident….I thought I canceled it. :I) And I’m totally doing this one differently today: I have tasted all but three of the items in this crate, and one of my sisters helped me out as well! πŸ˜€ So let’s go ahead and get started! :3

This month’s theme is Childhood Favorites, and, honestly, I’ve only ever had one of these snacks before, and that was in a past Japan Crate!

IMG_20170616_123638

The first item is the Ice Stick Lollipop. These lollipops are supposed to look like ice pops, and it looks like it’ll be a tasty little treat! I didn’t try this one since there’s only one piece, but I do hope it tastes good!

IMG_20170616_123809

The second snack is the Mochi Taro: Salt. In the May crate we had a snack kind of like this, and I really did enjoy it. This one I also enjoyed! It had a light salt taste and it was pretty good! My sister thought it was ok when she tried it.

IMG_20170616_123723

These are the Triangular Cracker Vegetable. They’re vegetable flavored crackers, but, honestly? There was so flavor to these when I tried them, and my sister agreed. I really wish I had been able to taste the flavor, whatever it was supposed to be, but there was just nothing.

IMG_20170616_123648

This one is the Soft Soda Soft Candy. The booklet describes them as being jellybean like, but I compare the texture more to being like chewing gum! I really like the ramune flavor, and it had a slight sour kick at the end. My sister didn’t really seem to enjoy the sour kick, but seemed fine with it otherwise.

IMG_20170616_123851

The fifth snack is the Anpanman Soft Cracker. This bag is HUGE and I was so surprised when I opened it to find that the crackers were individually wrapped in packs of two! That means I can easily put them in my lunchbox and take them to work with me! My sister didn’t want to try these, so I tried them by myself, and I really liked them! They were crunchy and had a salty, kind of buttery taste to them!

IMG_20170616_123751

This is the Roll Candy Strawberry 20G. Basically, it’s a Japanese Fruit Roll-Up! I tired this one by myself again, and it was pretty good! I haven’t had a Fruit Roll-Up in years, so, I can’t compare this one to the American version, but I do think this one is very good, it has a really good strawberry flavor to it, and it is sticky, but, that’s expected.

IMG_20170616_123624

This snack is simply called Pike8. I was a bit confused about which on this was according to the booklet, because this package doesn’t match what’s in the booklet. Either way, it’s another rice cracker and this one is supposed to have a buttery and salty taste. It’s a very crunchy cracker and not bad tasting, but it does take a bit to get the butter flavor. I enjoyed it and my sister thought it was ok.

IMG_20170616_123706

This is a snack I’ve had before, the Corn Potage. It’s a corn soup flavored puff snack, and I really do enjoy this snack! It has a sweet corn flavor, and I love that. My sister got the flavor as well, but she didn’t like it that much.

IMG_20170616_165051.jpg

These are the Rilakkuma pretzel sticks. It’s basically Pocky without the cream on the outside, and they aren’t bad! They come in a honey butter flavor, and I personally really enjoy that flavor combination! I liked these a lot, and my sister thought they were all right.

IMG_20170616_123955

This is the DIY kit for this month, Shin-chan Puripuri Pudding #5. This is the fifth edition of this DIY kit, where you follow the directions to make pudding. I haven’t done this kit yet, and I don’t know if I’ll make a separate post about it or not, I’m undecided. I don’t think I’ll be using the butt shaped mold, personally. :I

IMG_20170616_123913

Genji Pie!! I’ve been dying to try these for months! These are in a mini form, and they’re heart shaped, baked cookies that are just like a flaky pie crust! They have a delicious buttery sweet taste, and remind me of pecan pie crust! I absolutely love these!

IMG_20170616_123736

This snack has a strange name! In the booklet, it’s called Lactic Acid Bacteria is Alive! It’s a hard candy that is strawberry yogurt flavored, and it has live lactic acid bacteria in it, which is a probiotic. My sister and I tried these and at first, I thought they were gummy candy! It’s not bad, and I do like the flavor, and I think my sister liked it to an extent as well.

IMG_20170616_123943

Here is the drink for this month, Pudding Shake! This is going to be a strange one to try, I think. It seems like it’s a creamy drink with bits of pudding in it, and it’s being compared to boba drinks. I personally really like boba, so I do hope this tastes good when I drink it, but I am a bit scared lol.

IMG_20170616_123903

Finally, we have the Choco Anpan! These are little breads that have chocolate in the middle! I’ve wanted to try these for a long time, and finally I got to! However, I thought they were just ok. The chocolate was good, but my sister and I agree that there was too much bread, and not enough chocolate in the middle.

The bonus item this month is a moldable sushi piece. It comes with a plastic piece of raw fish, and this semi-wet material that you can mold to be like the rice of the sushi. It’s interesting and I have mine together in the bag it came in, just so the material doesn’t dry out.

IMG_20170616_124134

So that’s the June 2017 Japan Crate! I’m actually super happy with this crate and everything that came in it, and I think it was a very strong in the snacks that they sent us!

I’ll see you guys again next month for the July Umai Crate! πŸ™‚

May 2017 JapanCrate Review

***This is not a sponsored post. It is being done for fun and to inform, no other reasons are involved. The company that makes this product has no idea I exist and did not give this item to me for free.***

We’re back with a Premium JapanCrate!! πŸ˜€ Haven’t had one of these since January, but now we’re doing the May crate! I have no idea if I will be doing any more this summer, so, let’s just put that on the back burner for now and focus on this crate! πŸ™‚ I’m going to do this one a little different, because I’ve gone ahead and tried a couple of the snacks in this box because I couldn’t resist lol. I’ll make sure to mention which ones I’ve tried and the ones I haven’t, because the latter snacks will be reviewed at a later date. πŸ™‚

IMG_20170512_183549

I don’t know if I like this pamphlet as much as past ones, but it’s still kind of cute. :3

IMG_20170512_183844

This is the Dondon Yaki: KimChi. The pamphlet says it’s a snack that’s flavor is based on Okonomiyaki with a bit of kimchi to it. I hope it’s not too spicy! (I did not try this snack yet.)

IMG_20170512_183901

(sorry for blurriness, i tried. :/)

This snack is the Meigum Gaburichu Cola. This is a soft taffy that’s in the flavor of cola, so, IDK if I’m going to like it, because I really don’t like cola flavored stuff…(I did not try this snack yet.)

IMG_20170512_183921

This little snack is called Don Taro, and it’s udon noodles! These are soy sauce and dashi soup flavor, according to the pamphlet. I really can’t wait to eat this. It looks delicious!Β (I did not try this snack yet.)

IMG_20170512_183934

This is an interesting one. It’s called Fugashi, and the pamphlet says it’s a brown sugar glazed puff snack, like a corn puff. It looks tasty, so, I hope it’s good!(I did not try this snack yet.)

IMG_20170512_183944

This cute little snack is called Roll Cake: Strawberry Cream. It’s a little strawberry cream cake! πŸ˜€ It looks really tasty and I can’t wait to eat it!(I did not try this snack yet.)

IMG_20170512_183956

Ok, this one is the Wasabi Nori Tarou, a dried fish snack with wasabi and seaweed flavor. This is one that I tried, and, honestly, I really liked it (until I put half of it in my mouth at once. The wasabi hurt me). It was a little sticky which was weird, but I still liked it. In small bites, the wasabi isn’t bad at all, but too much at once is a bit painful!

IMG_20170512_184007

Ah, I was so excited when I saw this was the replacement snack for one that there was a shortage on! This is the Tohato Caramel Corn! I’ve always wanted to try this, and can now say that I have! It’s SUPER good! It tastes just like the caramel popcorn we have over here, and I love it! So glad this was put in the box!!

IMG_20170512_184032

A chocolate snack, yes! This one is called Shimi Chocolate Corn! It’s a chocolate covered corn snack! Anything chocolate is usually great in my book, so, I bet these will be delicious!Β (I did not try this snack yet.)

IMG_20170512_184042

An interesting snack, this is the 6-Piece Crispy Corn. It’s a little corn puff snack that’s meant to replicate corn on the cob, like the grilled one you would find at a Japanese festival (or maybe even from your home grill!) It smells delicious and actually does taste like corn on the cob, just in a crunchy snack form! I really like it!

IMG_20170512_184051

A Pokemon item!! This is simply a piece of gum with a sticker, and I’ll make a post later on about the sticker part! The gum is a little square, and it has a soda taste to it (like…whatever Japanese soda is supposed to be. original ramune I guess?). It was good, but I’ve had this gum before, so, no surprise there haha.

IMG_20170512_184113

Pokemon and Hello Kitty?? This is my box! This little treat is a chocolate filled marshmallow with Hello Kitty on the package! I’ll be saving this for much later because there’s only ONE and it’s so small.

IMG_20170512_184122

I got super excited when I saw this in my box!! It’s the Cream Collon Strawberry cookie! This is a wafer cookie with strawberry cream! I’ve had the vanilla version of these bfore and liked them, so, I really hope these are good too!Β (I did not try this snack yet.)

IMG_20170512_184133

Now for our drink! This is the Mitsuya Cider: Refreshing Lemon! According to the pamphlet, Japanese cider isn’t like American cider at all. Japanese cider is likened to a cross between ginger ale and Sprite! This one is supposed to be like a sparkling lemonade, so, I can’t wait to taste it!Β (I did not try this drink yet.)

IMG_20170512_184151

This is our DIY kit! It’s the Petit Pastel DIY Colorful Chocolate snack kit! I’ll definitely put this together and do a review of it soon!

IMG_20170512_184208

And finally, our bonus item. While I’m not a fan of One Piece in the slightest, I do think this little piece of stationary is cute! It’s a few piece of lined paper, two envelopes, and a sheet of stickers! So, it’s basically a small letter kit!

IMG_20170512_184314

And there is the May JapanCrate! I’m really happy with this crate! I’m sure I’m going to love everything that’s here (that I haven’t already tasted lol) and I can’t wait to review the rest of the snacks for you guys! πŸ™‚

April NatureBox Shop Order

In April, I started to eat a lot healthier and made an order with NatureBox so I could have some great, healthy snacks, and wouldn’t be tempted to run to the vending machine for snacks, and this works great!

I was super happy with everything I ordered, and I’m going to go ahead and review it all here! So let’s get started! πŸ™‚

IMG_20170412_215629

The first one is the Double Chocolate Brownie Cookies. And oh my gosh, these are AMAZING. They are soft and chewy, and have such a great chocolate tastes. I absolutely love these, and will definitely order more of them!

IMG_20170412_215645

These are the Sourdough Cheddar Pretzel Bites! These little pretzel bites are so delicious and crunchy, and the cheese taste is great! I may not get these the next time I make an order, but they were pretty good!

IMG_20170412_215654

This bag of California Dried Peaches are so good. I got majorly into dried peaches recently, and these are perfect. They’re sliced thinly and taste wonderfully, and while I very likely will not get them next time I order some snacks, they are totally delicious!

IMG_20170412_215703

The Masa Crisps I have had in the past, and I really do enjoy them. They’re a great little chip that have a great taste to them!

IMG_20170412_215718

Another snack I’ve had before, the Dark Chocolate Berry Trail Mix! I had to buy two bags this time because this snack is so good! I love the mix of nuts, berries, and chocolate!

IMG_20170412_215727

This is the last snack I’ve had before, the Harvest Nut Mix. It’s a great, salty trail mix that has a lot of substance to it, and tides me over until it’s time for lunch or dinner.

IMG_20170412_215733

These are the Sea Salt Cassava chips! Cassava is also called yuca, and these chips are so good! They taste just like potato chips, but they’re so much better for you! They’re delicious!

IMG_20170412_215740

Now these are the Hardbite Carrot Chips. Hardbite is not a NatureBox brand, from my understanding, but they are selling some of their items through the NatureBox store, and I had to get these to try them! I’m very pleased with them too! They have a slight sweetness from the carrots, but they’re also a little salty and so good!

IMG_20170412_215746

Finally, these are the Hardbite Beet Chips. I personally love pickled beets, and these chips are great! They have a little bit of sourness like a picked beet does, but they taste so great! I totally love them!

IMG_20170412_215827

So that’s my most recent NatureBox order! I’ll have another one sometimes this summer, because I’ll be needing more snacks eventually, so, just hang tight and watch for that! πŸ™‚

Amazon Order Products Review

This post can also be viewed here: ChristianOtakuReviews on Blogger

This is not an affiliated or sponsored post with Amazon. I did not receive these products for free, I purchased them myself.

IMG_20170507_125301

Well this is going to be a big post haha. I received a $40 Amazon gift card as a gift recently at work, and I finally got to use it! I made this order on April 29, and it finally arrived at my house on May 7. (If would have been here earlier if I had used my mom’s Amazon account, but, it’s fine. There are reasons I didn’t and I was ok with waiting…for the most part.)

So, four of these items are just things I wanted/needed, and three of them are very personal. I will talk about two of these items more than the other, because the other is going to be used for a very special reason. Maybe one day I’ll share what it’s for, but, right now? I’m not sure I want to, so, I’ll keep the reason for it to myself. πŸ™‚

So the first item is a box of 44 cards of Proverbs to color in. For Christmas this past year, my mom bought a shared gift for all of us of blessings to color in, and I really enjoyed them, so, when I was making this order, I decided to get the Proverbs one, especially after going through a few personal things. This box is super pretty, and the cards are really nice. My cards, though, seem to have been cut oddly when they were made, so there were pieces falling off and the edges aren’t PERFECT, but, that’s ok. I’ll still enjoy coloring them. I’m thinking about getting trading card sleeves to get these into my binder of coloring pages, in order to keep them safe once they’ve been colored (or I’ll leave them in the box, lol. I don’t know yet.)

This one is a Copic Marker Doodle Pack! I’ve bought one of these before, and honestly love them! Copics are such great markers, even though they’re expensive! This one is the Turquoise pack, and it includes Cool Shadow, Mint Green, Atyou Spica glitter pen, and a gray Copic multiliner pen. These are going to be awesome for journalling and drawing in general!

OK, so, this is the one that’s got a special reasoning behind it, and I’m keeping that to myself, but I wanted to show the journal itself, because it’s super pretty. I have a pink one like this with Matthew 19:26 on it, and I’m going to be using that one to write down Bible verses I want to remember. This one is going to be used alongside it at times, but for a very private reason. I may talk about it more one day, but, right now, it’s being kept for me to know. :3

This one is a illustrated devotional for women. I picked this one out because it looked very pretty and the pictures of pages I saw on Amazon looked lovely. I think it’ll be something great to do each night before bed, especially since I have a small set of coloring pencils I can use with it.

This item was more of a silly one, but I ordered one pack of Animal Crossing Amiibo Cards haha. Those are the six I got, and one is A PENGUIN. I’m going to have him move into my New Leaf town soon!! πŸ˜€

Finally, I got a new umbrella. Mine was a cheap little one from Walmart, and it got really beat up during our last bout of rain and wind two weeks ago. So I bought a stronger one! πŸ™‚ I love the flower on top of it too!

IMG_20170507_125644

So that’s everything I got this time. I’m really happy with everything, and I’m glad to finally have the important things I had been waiting for. πŸ™‚

RightStuf and FUNimation Online Shop Orders

Hey there guys!

Today I’ve got a quick post about the recent anime orders I made from RightStuf and FUNimation! I had a bit of trouble with FUNimation, because I ordered one item and was sent the incorrect one TWICE, but I’ll explain that later!

So let me start with the RightStuf order, because that one was correct from the start and very important to me.

IMG_20170328_195738

So the RightStuf order is the first one I’ve ever made with them, and I was very impressed with it. I ordered the Boruto -Naruto the Movie- DVD and the first volume of the Boruto manga. I decided to order from here because of the bonus art postcard you could get one of three of, and I ended up getting the one I wanted of Sarada and Sasuke! πŸ™‚ I’ve very happy with those this order arrived and that everything was in great condition. The postcard is now safely tucked away in the movie DVD case, haha.

Funimation Anime

Now for the FUNimation order…I was less than impressed with this one. My original order consisted of two Tsubasa DVD sets, and the first season of Kamisama Kiss Blu-Ray/DVD set. Instead of getting Kamisama Kiss, I surprisingly got the Fractale set, which I did not order. So I got into contact with FUNimation and they said they would send a replacement, which they did, but it ended up being ANOTHER copy of Fractale. One more email, with all my pictures to prove I ordered Kamisama Kiss, not Fractale, and that something had to be amiss in their warehouse, and I FINALLY received Kamisama Kiss about two weeks ago. (And yes, I purposefully left the SAVE edition sides of the covers out. I don’t mind it and the SAVE editions are fairly cheap haha.)

I was allowed to keep Fractale, so, that’s good I guess. The point here, if you get sent the wrong item from any place, get into contact with them immediately, don’t just reorder it. Usually the company will be glad to help and fix it, and I’m glad that FUNimation fixed it.

The items themselves were in perfect condition. I’ve been watching Kamisama Kiss and very much enjoying it! I’ll definitely try out Fractale sometime this summer, and will get around to watching my Tsubasa sets as well. Tsubasa is a very good anime, and I absolutely adore the series, and the OVAs I purchased, I love Tokyo Revelations and I can’t wait to watch Spring Thunder for the first time!

So yeah, that’s everything from these orders! I hope I can review each of these over the summer, and make a decision on if I like Fractale or not. So please be looking out for those! πŸ™‚

March 2017 Umai Crate

I got my March Umai Crate last week! I’m so loving this subscription box, but unfortunately can’t get the April one because I used the money for that to buy something else, but, it’s ok! Lets go ahead and do a quick overview of this crate!

Sorry the second picture has a blue tint to it, I don’t know why that happens! Anyway, in this crate, we again got seven types of ramen, our bonus item, and this time I actually got the pamphlet! πŸ™‚ So let’s get started!

IMG_20170313_123932

The first ramen in the box is Yamamotoseifun – Pompoko Ramen! This is a miso flavored ramen, which I LOVE because miso is one of my favorite flavors! I love miso soup and miso flavored ramen is great!

IMG_20170313_123947

The second is the Yamamotoseifun – Mune Hanarou Chinese Soy Sauce Noodles! Soy sauce flavored noodles are pretty good, and this one looks like it’s going to be delicious! I might do some add-ins to it to make it even more delicious!

IMG_20170313_123956

My third pack is the Yamamotoseifun – Hanarou Chinese Salted Noodles! Yes, three from the same brand, how cool! Salted noodles sound interesting, and if I have some seafood when I eat this, I’ll definitely add it!

IMG_20170313_124006

This is so cute! This is the Mini Cup Noodle in original flavor! This is definitely snack sized, and could have a lot of things added to it to help emphasize the flavor!

IMG_20170313_124025

The fifth ramen is the Sankei Shimbun Osaka Ramen Soy Sauce! Another soy sauce flavor! This looks really good, and like it would be a great lunch on a lazy Saturday!

IMG_20170313_124036

Another mini cup of ramen! This one is Sapporo Miso Ramen Mini Bowl! Another miso ramen, yes! Very small, definitely for a snack, but will still taste great!

The final ramen in this box is Daikoku Foods – Big Curry Udon! My mom does not like curry, but I’m curious about trying this! This bowl is HUGE too, and I’m definitely going to be eating it soon!

IMG_20170313_124109

OK, now this is the last item in the box, and it’s the bonus item! It’s a packet of Shichimi Togarashi! This is a spice mix and JapanCrate has a description of it on their blog. I tried this on plain white rice and on mixed rice, and it was good both ways! I really like it!

IMG_20170313_124245

So that’s the March Umai Crate! I love these crates so much, they’re so great! Like I said at the beginning, I won’t be getting the April box, but we’ll back in May! πŸ™‚

February 2017 Umai Crate

After being quite late, I FINALLY have the Feburary Umai Crate to review! The box was a bit late, but I expected that since all of Japan Crate’s boxes are now shipping directly from Japan and then I was late getting this up because I’ve been busy! But, I’ve gotten the time to make this post, and here it is!

So, unfortunately, my Umai Crate did not some with the booklet, but I did email Japan Crate and they provided me with the PDF version of it, so, I can still tell you all what’s in here! πŸ™‚ (Note that at this point, I’ve eaten all but three of these LOL.)

IMG_20170223_200703

First up, a noodle bowl called Ajiwaimenkoobou – Flavory Miso ramen! So it looks like this is miso flavor ramen in a bowl. All you do, of course, is add hot water and let it sit for a few minutes. I personally love miso soup, so, I can’t wait to try this!

IMG_20170223_200709

This is part of the reason why I decided to start Umai Crate haha! This is the Pokemon Noodle Mini Soy Sauce Flavor. It’s another cup of noodles, but it has a Pikachu theme to it! The cup has Pikachu on it, and inside with the noodles are Pikachu styled Naruto Maki, the fish cake! It also comes with a sticker! It’s a small cup, so, obviously meant to be a snack, not a whole meal.

IMG_20170223_200717

This one is the Wakame Ramen – Yukari Finish. It’s flavor with seaweed, which makes me happy because I love seaweed snacks! This was a really good bowl of ramen! I just made it as is, didn’t add anything to it, and I really, really enjoyed it! It had a fishy seaweed taste, but it wasn’t bad at all! It was delicious! I wish I could get more easily!

IMG_20170223_200728

This package is the Nara Tenri Ramen. I did try this one, but I still am unsure of the flavor! It was good, kind of had a slight mushroom taste to it, and I really liked it! If I did anything else to it, I probably would have added some veggies or meat to it.

IMG_20170223_200736

Next is the Daikokuken – Miso Ramen! Another miso ramen, yay!! I haven’t tried this one yet, but when I do, I’ll definitely have a soft boiled egg and maybe some pork with it!

IMG_20170223_200742

This is another Daikokuken ramen, but this one is Shio flavored! I looked it up, and from what I could tell, shio is salt flavor, but it wasn’t as salty as I expected it to be! I added some chicken, corn, and soft boiled egg to this, and it was really good!

IMG_20170223_200748

The final ramen in this box was the Hyoubanya – Chuka Ramen Soba Soy! This was super good too! It was the first one I had out of my box, and I had it with a fried egg. I really enjoyed it!

IMG_20170223_200754

The bonus item in the box was this heart shaped egg mold! I’ve used this twice now since I got it, and I really like it! It’s made of silicone so it’s easy to clean and use, and it’s worked pretty well! I’d probably, though, use it with two eggs stead of one, especially if I’m not using large eggs.

IMG_20170223_200834

So there it is! The February Umai Crate! I am currently waiting for my March crate to get here, and I hope to get that up fairly quickly once it gets here. I will NOT be getting the April crate, as I made the decision to skip it to preorder Boruto – Naruto the Movie and the first volume of the Boruto manga instead of getting the next crate.

I plan to return to Umai Crate in May however! I hope you guys will stick with me as we review these!

Choco Kinako Mochi Matcha DIY candy kit

***This is not a sponsored post. It is being done for fun and to inform, no other reasons are involved. The company that makes this product has no idea I exist and did not give this item to me for free.***

This is an interesting little DIY candy kit! Originally, in the December JapanCrate, we were supposed to get a magic slime kit, but a shortage happened and they replaced it with this kit!

I’m actually glad we got this one instead, because I have a lot of love for matcha flavored candies and snacks. It is a weird little kit, but it’s not terrible tasting.

You have a packet of little mochi tablets, chocolate, and matcha powder, a tray, and a two pronged fork. You’re supposed to wet the mochi tablets so they become soft and squishy, then dip them in the chocolate, then the matcha powder and eat.

It…isn’t bad…The mochi tablets are kind of weird, and I didn’t have a dropper with me so I couldn’t do it properly, but I did eventually get the tablets wet enough that I was able to do the rest of the kit correctly. The chocolate and the matcha powder were good. It really tasty with those on it, but separate, I don’t think the mochi tablets would be very good.

All in all, not a terrible kit, I enjoyed making it and eating it, but the mochi tablets were kind of icky.

January 2017 JapanCrate

img_20170120_123207

Check it out, guys, we got another JapanCrate!! πŸ™‚ This is my last one for now, as I’m a bit tight on play money right now. I do have one more item from them on the way, and it’s the Christmas stocking that was a special item with a code they were giving out in December. I found out the other day that the stockings are shipped separately from the main box, so, we’re waiting for that now. πŸ™‚

This month’s theme is Indulgence, and oh boy, I’m SUPER excited for this box!! (and yes, my box is rather beat up lol. I’m also sick while writing this so I haven’t tried a single thing in the box yet.)

Doesn’t this pamphlet look lovely?? You can see just a couple of the snacks in the box, as many of these are small, single serve snacks, which I don’t mind! I’m usually the only one in my family that eats these snacks, so, I’m not concerned about having to share them haha!

I’m going to do all of these in order based on the pamphlet, and when I review each of the snacks individually, I will do them either in this order, or starting from the last snack to the first one in the pamphlet.

The first snack in this box is the Kajiriccho Grape & Soda Soft Candy. The booklet describes this as being a taffy-like candy that has a grape flavored outside and a soda flavored center. This looks delicious, and I’m excited to try out a candy like this!

img_20170120_123556

Our next snacks is the Double Ice Cream Lollipop Chocolate & Vanilla. Basically, it’s a lollipop with the flavors of chocolate and vanilla ice cream. Yummy!! Β This is their featured candy in the pamphlet, and they made the suggestion of placing the lollipop in the fridge and trying it cold, saying it should be like real ice cream without the mess. I may have to try it like that!

img_20170120_123654

This snack is a Fruit Donut treat. Apparently they come in different flavors, and mine is a green gummy ring. I wonder what the flavor will be!

img_20170120_123317

Last month they gave us the Umai Vegetable Salad flavor rings, and this month we have the Umai Ring Mentai flavor! This is the other featured snack in the booklet, and it describes the flavor as being marinated roe of pollack and cod, and this is the most popular flavor in Japan! I’m a bit excited and worried to try to this, so, I really hope it tastes delicious!

img_20170120_123420

The fifth snack in this crate is the Umaibo Chocolate. I have only had one Umaibo stick before, and I can’t remember what the flavor was, but I really enjoyed it. This one has chocolate! I’m sure I’m going to love it, lol!

img_20170120_123547

I didn’t expect to get a bag of chocolate chip cookies in a JapanCrate lol. These just called Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies. These are bite-sized chocolate chip cookies, which makes me laugh since I just got a bag of mini chocolate chip cookies from NatureBox, haha.

img_20170120_123703

Here we have the Suppai Lemon Gum! This is supposed to be super sour gum, which makes me laugh because we just got sour lemon gum last month too! I can’t wait to give this a try, as I love sour gum!

img_20170120_123613

I want to first say that I love matcha so much, it’s my new favorite drink at Starbucks. And these look so delicious! These are simply Matcha Sandwich Cookies, but they look so great. It’s a nice sized box too, so, maybe they’ll last me a little while!

img_20170120_123458

This is the only snack in this box that really has me concerned. This is the Chocola Gummy. It’s a cola flavored gummy with a chocolate coating. I HATE cola flavored candy, and this have a chocolate coating just makes me feel sicks… but, I will give it a taste for the blog, I just may have to hand it over to someone else if I hate it.

img_20170120_123736

This is the Magic Slime DIY kit, the kit we were supposed to get last month but didn’t because of seller shortage. I’m not sure what I think of this DIY kit, but I will document my experience with it and see how it tastes!

img_20170120_123336

These are the ABC Message Cookies. It looks like they’re plain cookies in the shape of alphabet letters! I can’t wait to try these, and we’ll see if I can spell anything with them, lol!

img_20170120_123625

Here is the One Stick Chocolate Pie. I’ve seen this online before, and always thought it looked delicious, and now I get to try it!! It’s a one piece snack that supposed to be just like a chocolate pie without all the baking! It looks so good, I’m excited to taste it!

img_20170120_123409

Here we have the Meigum Gaburichu: Strawberry Yogurt flavor. It looks like this a stick of gum in the flavor of strawberry yogurt. I’m very interested to see how this tastes! It feels like it’s a pretty good sized piece of gum, so I should be able to cut it into a couple of pieces and try it out that way!

img_20170120_123357

A cute little pack of gummies! This is called Animal Land Gummy, and it looks like these are grape flavored, just by the packaging! I’m so glad they aren’t cola flavored like the dinosaur ones this past summer were, lol!

img_20170120_123806

Here’s the drink for this month! This is called Bodyguard Plus, and unfortunately, I can’t tell you what the flavor is. It looks like there was a misprint in the booklet and it says the exact same thing on this item and the bonus item for product description. :/ But I’ll try it and see if I can identify the flavor!

img_20170120_123344

And the final item is a bonus item. This was included as a mystery candy because of the delays last month from all the holiday shipments. It looks like a random mystery candy was included in every box that went out, and I ended up getting the Zombie Maker Gum. This has stickers and a background to place them on, and includes a piece of gum with it. It kind of creeps me out, but I’m sure the gum will taste great.

And there we are, the January 2017 JapanCrate! It’s a great start to the year, even though I won’t be getting next months box. I’m really happy with this box, and I can’t wait to dive in and try everything!

As soon as the bonus gift stocking gets here, I’ll do a review of the items that are in it as well!

December 2016 JapanCrate

My apologies in advance if this is the only post, besides what I am gifted on Christmas Day, for this month that’s a review or something, but I’ve been very busy and been sick this week. :/

BUT, that’s not going to stop me from giving a quick overview and review of this month’s JapanCrate! And yes, I will have another next month! πŸ™‚

So here’s the overview pictures! I love getting this red box, it’s so fun! The little booklet is cute too, and explains some things about Christmas in Japan, and tells you more about the snacks! I had to use flash for these, as I’m having some lighting issues in my room right now. But, I did my best, and here we go with the overview of the snacks!

img_20161221_193723

The first item in this box is the Sakuranbo no Uta. This is a cherry flavored candy that apparently is supposed to have a resemblance to cherry pie with whipped cream on it. I’m not a huge fan of cherries, but cherry pie is the exception, haha. I can’t wait to try these and see how they taste.

img_20161221_193708

Next we have the Uma wa Vegetable Salad Flavor. This apparently is made by the makers of the Umaibo sticks, and these are rings instead of full sized stick. These are supposed to taste like a salad with dressing on it, and I really hope these taste good. I thought they sounded interesting when I saw them on JapanCrate’s Twitter, and they really do sound tasty!

img_20161221_193942

Our third snack is the Animal Lesson Choco. These are chocolate creme filled cookies with animals on them! These remind me of the Hello Panda cookies, and I bet they’re exactly the same, just with different designs on the front. Can’t wait to try them out!

img_20161221_193955

This is a very interesting snack. It’s called Yakimo Yokan, and it’s a roasted sweet potato flavored gelatin dessert. Yes, this is a gelatin snack. It’s squishy, and I actually am excited to try it, as I love sweet potatoes. I’m sure it’s going to be delicious cold~

img_20161221_193651

This is another one I’m super excited to try! These are Harvest Biscuit Matcha flavor. So, basically, they seem to be crackers that have a matcha flavor to them. I recently discovered that I actually really like matcha flavored snacks, so, I’m really excited to try this out and see how it tastes!

img_20161221_193930

This next item is called Tsundermon Gum. And yes, it’s tsunder like from tsundere. These are meant to be like the tsundere trope, of going from sour (mean or cold) to sweet (nice or open). It’s in a lemon flavor, and looks like it’ll be tasty. I hope it isn’t too sour lol.

img_20161221_193740

This snack is the Morokoshi wa ta Ro. These are just corn puff snacks it seems. The package is cute, and I like corn puff snacks, so, these should be a win for me. πŸ™‚

img_20161221_193755

Next up, this is the Grapefruit & Orange Nodo Ame. These are grapefruit and orange flavored hand candies that have vitamin C in them. I personally love grapefruits, and a candy in that flavor sounds wonderful! And after being sick this week, I need the vitamin C, lol!

img_20161221_193841

Next is the Anpanman Pero Pero Chocolate. This is basically a chocolate lollipop, and it’s got an Anpanman character as the design! I don’t actually know this character’s name, but it looks delicious. If anyone knows this character’s name, please tell me!

img_20161221_194011

Now we have the DIY kit that was included, the Green Tea Choco Mochi kit. Because of a shortage from their supplier, JapanCrate had to make a substitution from the slime kit featured in the booklet to this one, which isn’t a bad thing, they let us know in the emails with our tracking number, which is great, and I think this kit will be better than the slime kit honestly. I might try to record this one, since it’s a DIY kit, but, we’ll just have to see.

img_20161221_194028

Getting down to the last few items, we have the drink that was included in this box! This is the Double Sparkling Yuzu & Lemon soda. I’ve never had yuzu before, but it being citrus and in a soda with lemon actually sounds delicious. I’ll have to get this chilled and try it out soon!

img_20161221_193912

Another one I’ve never tried before, we have the strawberry flavored Calpico mini. The best way I know to describe these is kind of like astronaut food, but also not, from what I’ve seen and heard. The booklet describes this as a crunchy cone with an airy chocolate in the middle, with the one I received being strawberry flavored. I’m really excited to finally try one of these, I’ve been dying to for years!

img_20161221_193827

This time around, our bonus item is another package of candy! This is the Kakushi Ume-dama, an ume flavored hard candy. Ume is pickled plum, and I’ve actually had an ume flavored gum in the past that I honestly loved. These are supposed to have at least one very sour candy in the bag, which isn’t a problem for me as I love sour candies.

img_20161221_193859

This, honestly, is the one thing I was not excited to see in my box. This is the Long Cola Gum, two long pieces of cola flavored gum. I absolutely cannot stand the taste of Coca-Cola, and a cola flavored gum does not sound the least bit appealing to me. But, I will try it. I will probably share it with my three sisters, and we’ll see how it is.

img_20161221_193812And finally, we have the Pure Gummy Puchi Sankaku Lemon. This is a tiny package of lemon flavored gummies, and they’re supposed to taste like lemonade. I showed this to my mom and at first we both thought it was just one piece, until she held it up to the light and we saw it’s more than just one. Here’s hoping they taste delicious!

img_20161221_194131

Despite the cola gum, I’m very excited for all the snacks in this box! I can’t wait to try them out, and see what each one tastes like. I’ll try to get individual reviews up for these snacks while I’m on break, but I might be a bit busy for that (I know I will be very busy next month and probably unable to do that with the January box, but we’ll see).

I do, honestly, highly recommend JapanCrate, even if I don’t get boxes from them often. They do have a store open on their website now, and I might have to make an order for past snacks I haven’t tried, but that’s just another thing we’ll have to see about. πŸ˜‰
